When does music cease to be any good?

I listen to some new stuff, but my true loves are the oldies. Blue Oyster Cult, kansas, the Beatles, The Eagles. But when ever my friends ask me what I'm listening to and I tell them "Burnin' for you" by Blue Oyster Cult, they mock me for listening to 'old' music. Since when did music have a sell by date?
