i think the song being a reflection on the relationship and the guy is in despair, he's looking back over the relationship and realising it wasn't at all what it seemed to be, the veneer representing this, the love wasn't really there, it was more of a manipulation, the words are quite bitter and negative, 'pour'ing salt in the wounds, blood in the sink (suicide attempt?) 'sullen load' one carrying the relationship, i think the repeated My, my, my, could also be me me me. "I'll be holding all the tickets, you'll be holding all the fines" again it's this manipulation, i know i've got you in deep and i'm gonna play that til i'm done with you. It also works well with the title Skinny/Thin. I think you have to listen to the song and hear it as call and response, an argument if you like, there are two voices in the song.
