How do I load a DSI supercard?

As an oldie I know I'm not too game savy but have been gifted with a DSI. I have bought a Supercard, an SD card etc and paid for unlimited downloads for games. Can someone put in simple English how to get it all to work. I've downloaded some games and some zip thing and thought I had it all ready to go but DSI can't find any files. Help.
